The all new 2025 Chevy Equinox has made an appearance, and the first impression is really good! The compact crossover class has been awash over the last few years with some of the most dull, but overall pretty-solid to own vehicles in the marketplace.
We like the new Equinox a lot for its rough and tumble good-looks, wider stance, and incredible interior space – but the connectivity and driving dynamics seal the deal for us. At the Chevrolet Experience in Monticello, NY, we got to drive the new 2025 Chevy Equinox on the track against a Toyota RAV-4, and the differences were noticeable.
2025 Chevrolet Equinox: Interior & Tracked!
The RAV4’s 2.5L non-turbocharged inline-4 was noticeably duller than the fizzy 1.5L DOHC Turbocharged inline-4 in the Equinox, and the 8-speed keeps you in the power beautifully especially on a rolled throttle. Through the slalom, 2025 Chevrolet Equinox was composed and you could hustle it from apex to apex. The Equinox doesn’t roll as much, the Equinox has more screen space, and a lot of them have HD Surround vision and can be equipped with SuperCruise. Some of the interior color and fabric options that are going to be available with this vehicle are incredible.
The infotainment is massive and incredibly high resolution, with seamless Apple Carplay and Android Auto with the added convenience of Google Voice Assistant and Google Maps with the Onstar subscription. It is incredibly easy and satisfying to use, because all of the HVAC controls are still buttons. Volkswagen had to learn that lesson the hard way.

Equinox Versus Compact Crossover Competition
So truly, how does it stack up against the current competition? The 2025 Equinox is significantly more vehicle and a nicer user experience than you get from Nissan Rogue, Ford Escape, or the Kia Sportage/Hyundai Tucson. It is clearly in the higher echelon of the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V and of the three, it’s the best looking and most comfortable. The 8-speed automatic was a timely and important upgrade while a lot of the competition double-down on CVT’s, and the screen space is incredible while not being invasive.
All of that, and it is better looking than the compact BMW crossovers, more reliable than the Stelvio, and more appealing than a Hornet. Well done Chevy, this one is a winner! Test Drive and Purchase your new 2025 Chevy Equinox today at Cavallaro-Neubauer Chevrolet.
